The need of Netgear Wifi Extender

Why do we need an extender if we have a router?
When the main router is not capable of covering the whole area of your home or office then there is a need to purchase and install an extender. Netgear extenders are providing results these days. Various Netgear extender models are manufactured to provide a better range coverage all over the house. Installation of the Netgear extender is also very easy through its web interface and that is mywifiext.net. If the web address does not seem to work then you can use the default IP address for the same purpose.

Setup of the Netgear extender
If we talk about the setup then there are various methods you can use to install the Netgear extender. One of the easiest methods is by pushing the WPS button. Make sure the router also has the WPS button for the setup to complete. Another method is, use the domain name mywifiext.net or www.mywifiext.net to setup the extender. Open an Internet browser, enter the domain name as mentioned here and then hit the enter key. After this, enter the default login details and hit the submit button. You will get landed to the setup page. From this onwards, you can follow the instructions and setup the Netgear extender.

How to find the network name if you are unable to do so?
Follow the steps given below.
  1.    Open the setup wizard for your extender model. A screen displays.
  2.  Enable the manually input my wireless SSID radio button. Enter the network name of your extender now. Make sure you put the _EXT at the end of the SSID.
  3.   Enter the password for the same and click on the Continue button to proceed.
  4.    Tick on the check box saying use the same security settings for the extended network.
  5.   Verify the name of the extender and click on continue button.
  6.    Click OK; you will see a window saying you are one step away from completing the installation.
  7.    Now, the connection between router and extender has been established. But the connection between your device and the extender still remains to be made.
  8.    Turn on your device; go to network icon shown at the bottom right corner. Locate the network name of the extended network and click on connect.
  9.    Click on the finish button to finish this process.
  10. Now, your computer is connected to the extended network and your extender is connected to the router. If you have any issues while the setup process through mywifiext.net or while putting the SSID by the above mentioned steps, feel free to contact us.
